Forward Contracts are entered into with both large and small scale farmers to produce various seed crops, including maize, soya beans, wheat, field beans and vegetable seed. Parent Seed is supplied to the farmers. Production risk lies with the farmer.
Production is monitored by NTS and periodically inspected by government inspectors to ensure that it meets the relevant legislated seed production standards.
Seed is delivered at the farmers cost to the NTS Seed Processing facility where it receipted based on meeting the minimum purity and germination standards.
The delivered seed is cleaned and the farmer paid for cleaned seed.
The cleaned seed is stored until the selling season, when it is treated and packaged based on sale requirements.
