In older times sugar was sold on cone shapes called loaves, this cabbage takes its name from the similar shape. Loves improved soil and will do well in the cooler spring and autumn months. It has an excellent mild flavor, that is sweeter than some other cabbage types; and grows quite large. This variety is fantastic to cook with and great raw in salads and coleslaw.

Special varietal requirements

Sugar loaf Cabbage is best as a cool weather crop.
