Nantes Carrot produces long, evenly cylindrical roots that have a blunt end and good root shear. It has a lovely sweet, earthy, typical carrot flavour and does not possess much of a core. Carrot Nantes typically do not over-ripen, and will be fine being stored in the ground, but be sure to harvest them before any heat sets in to prevent bolting which will render the carrrots corky and inedible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep the top-most layer of soil damp during the long germination period and water deeply prior to planting. Direct sow the tiny seeds 5mm deep, 4 seeds per 2cm, and firm soil lightly after seeding. Make sure the seeds are only just buried.
