Emblem

OUTSTANDING QUALITIES

  • GOOD HEAT TOLERANCE
  • HIGH YIELD POTENTIAL
  • INTERMEDIATE BLACK ROT RESISTANCE

Emblem is a warm season hybrid, maturing at about 80 – 90 days from transplanting. Plants are healthy and strong with a good frame. Heads are large, round in shape, smooth and firm with a good field holding ability. Heads have a dark green colour, are sweet tasting and have a long shelf life. Emblem is a heat tolerant summer variety which is reliable, widely adapted and easy to grow. Mature heads can tolerate cool conditions well. Emblem has intermediate resistance to Black rot (Xcc) and Fusarium yellows (Foc) and is suggested for areas with Black rot pressure.

SPECIAL VARIETAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent results are consistently achieved for harvest through the warm season
  • Avoid early and late sowings in cooler areas and growing through winter in cold areas as bolting may occur
