Natsuki is a novelty type Chinese cabbage. The heads can be harvested when it is not fully matured to be used at a size of 200 – 500 g, depending on the plant spacing. Natsuki is a unique product because the heads do not form hair like the general Chinese cabbage varieties. The heads can also be left to mature if it is produced for the normal Chinese cabbage market. Natsuki does very well in summer temperatures.
SPECIAL VARIETAL REQUIREMENTS
- If produced for a head size of 200 – 400 g a plant population of 200 000 – 350 000 plants/ha is recommended
- Bolting may occur when transplanting end of winter or early spring
