Seaside is one of the Sakata spinach varieties used for baby leaf production. Seaside can be used for mechanical harvesting or hand harvesting. Seaside has smooth, oval shaped, dark green leaves with an upright growth habit. The variety has a very good disease package with resistance to Downy Mildew ( Pfs ) races 1-12 and intermediate resistance to race 14. Days to maturity for baby leaves are 20 - 25 days.
