Cordial is a Piel de Sapo type melon. Flesh texture is very firm with consistently high Brix levels of up to 18 %. The internal quality is its great virtue. It has a crisp white flesh with traditional taste and tolerance to glassiness. Fruit are very uniform with an average weight of 2.5 to 3.5 kg. Cordial is widely adapted for warm season production. Plants are vigorous with good heat tolerance. Cordial has high resistance to Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV) and Fusarium wilt races 0-1 (Fom: 0-1) and intermediate resistance to Powdery mildew [(Gc: 1) (ex Ec) & (Px: 1,2,5) (ex Sf)].

  • Plant population of 6000 to 8000 plants per hectare
  • Less nitrogen in final stages of the crop compared to standard varieties
  • Contact area representative for the correct time to harvest
